Looking for a special size for your carpet?
Create your made-to-measure carpet with the exact measurements you need to fit your chosen room. You have several styles and finishes to configure it completely to your liking. If you need it, you can count on a personal advisor from Universal XXI who will help you choose your perfect carpet.
Follow these three simple steps:
2. Choose the size
You can request the measurements you want, with a maximum width of 4 metres. Choose the size according to its placement with regard to furniture or other decorative elements.
Be inspired by the most common types of carpet placement in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways.
LIVING ROOM
- Carpet little bit wider than the sofa.
- Carpets with the same width as the sofa.
- Carpet under the front legs of the sofa and the rest of the furniture.
- Carpet that covers the entire room, recommended for very large living rooms.
BEDROOM
- Carpets at the foot of the bed, their width should allow us to take a couple of steps when we get out of bed.
- Carpet at the front of the bed.
- Carpet that occupies the entire base of the bed including bedside tables.
DINING ROOM
Keep in mind that you have to leave enough space so that the chairs do not stick out from the carpet when you move them.
HALLWAY
For made-to-measure hallway carpets, it is ideal to leave between 10 and 15 centimetres free on each side between the carpet and the wall.
3. Choose your finish
Bound
It is the classic finish most used in carpets. This is done by creating a threaded edge around the carpet, thus avoiding fraying and providing a perfect and durable finish.
Belt
The belt finish is more modern than the bound finish. It is made by sewing a polyester tape around the carpet, leaving the edge more compact and as durable as the edging.
Clean cut
This is a cutting finish, leaving the carpet without edges. It is recommended only for some types of carpets such as the high pile styles made of polypropylene and Jute backing of the Oasis and Zenit collections.
